The Burmese stripped the temples of the gold coverings before burning them. The temples below are the ruins of Wat Phra Si Sanphet, Wat Mahathat, Phra Mongkonnophit, Wat Ratchaburana, and Wat Lokayasutharam. At Wat Lokayasutharam is a large reclining Buddha measuring 37 meters long by 8 meters high.
