Ancient Agora was the marketplace for ancient Athens. Here is the Temple of Hephaestus which dates from 449 BC. Also there is a reconctuction of the Stoa of Attalos which houses a museum with some wonderful artifacts from the age. Finally, there is a 11th century Byzantine church.
Roman Agora

The East Propylon was built from 19 to 11 BC, and serves as the enterance to Roman Agora. The Tower of the Winds was built in the 1st centruy BC, and is topped with beautiful bas relief. The structure served as a clock and weather vane. Further, is the Gate of Athens which was built in 11 BC by Julius Caesar. Not far is Hadrian Library, which was built in 132 AD by the emperor Hadrian.
